Hello! I am an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and the Chair of Political Science at the University of Toronto Scarborough. My research applies computational tools to study language, ideology, and political representation in Canada. I lead the Linked Parliamentary Data (LiPaD) Project and work with partners at the Investigative Journalism Foundation (IJF) to improve the quality and accessibility of civic data about Canadian politics. I supervise graduate and undergraduate research on parliament, voting behavior, political representation, socialization, ideology, and mobilization. You can find links to my published work at Discover Research and Google Scholar. I am writing about systemic distortions of Canadian political institutions and interconnections between ideology and language in parliamentary debates.
